Pembroke Pines Police received an apology from Arby's after an employee refused to serve a police officer at one of their fast food franchise located in South Florida. The Arby's worker received an order from a police officer Tuesday evening. The officer was said to be wearing a uniform and driving a police vehicle while placing his order through a speaker. However, the worker allegedly refused to serve the officer.

Chief Dan Giustino called the incident "unacceptable," after Pembroke Pines Police Department tweeted about it, according to FoxNews.

In a statement, Giustino said "I am offended and appalled that an individual within our community would treat a police officer in such a manner." He added,"We are very proud of the partnerships we have built within our city, and for an incident like this to have happened is very disappointing for everyone."

Another worker from the restaurant served the officer. However, the officer felt uncomfortable, so, the cop just returned the bag and got a refund.

After PPPD sent out its initial tweet about the incident, they posted another message, saying that Arby's had apologized.

According to police press release, Arby's Chief Executive Officer Paul Brown and Senior Vice President of Operations Scott Boatwright spoke to Giustino to apologize on behalf of the organization.

"We take this isolated matter very seriously as we respect and support police officers in our local communities," Arby's said in a statement sent to FoxNews.com. "As soon as the issue was brought to our attention, our CEO spoke with the Police Chief who expressed his gratitude for our quick action and indicates the case is closed. We will be following up with our team members to be sure that our policy of inclusion is understood and adhered to."

The food chain is taking a disciplinary action for the employee "up to and including termination," the spokesperson for Arby's said, FoxNews reported.
