Rachel McAdams split from her beau of two years, British actor Michael Sheen after they met while filming the Woody Allen movie "Midnight In Paris."
McAdams, 34, and Sheen, 44, portrayed characters that were romantically entangled in the movie. However, McAdams has said that Sheen and she did not hook up while filming.
"Michael and I didn't get together while we were filming Midnight in Paris, which I feel strongly about not doing when I'm working. We became quite good friends, which I think is a great way to start," McAdams says. "I felt very blessed to have made a Woody Allen film in Paris together."
McAdams nor Sheen have said why the couple has split. McAdams has previously said that it is notoriously difficult for celebrities to maintain relationships when they are often called upon to travel for work.
"Michael and I never spend more than three weeks apart - we rack up a lot of air miles - but you have to be quite adaptable in this business whether you are in a relationship or not. Trying to establish roots somewhere is a bit of a joke," she said.
The news of the McAdams/Sheen breakup comes on the heels of another low-key Hollywood couple split. Actress Michelle Williams and "How I Met Your Mother" actor Jason Segel split due to the trials that comes with a long distance relationship after dating for a year.
McAdams was previously attached to her "The Notebook" costar Ryan Gosling, whom she began dating in 2005 and was briefly engaged to. They later broke up in 2007. Meanwhile, Sheen dated actress Kate Beckinsale from 1995 until 2003; they have a 14-year-old daughter, Lily.
