Sony Xperia C5 and Xperia C5 Ultra is currently on Android 5.0 Lollipop and is reported to jump directly to the 5.1.1 version via an official over-the-air (OTA) update. Other variants and older models, in other parts of the world, have already been using the latest version via custom ROMs.

LinkedIn app integration with Calendar and Contacts apps, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth direct access via the menu, additional Xperia themes, several bug fixes and other improvements are included with the update.

Sony Xperia C5 and Xperia C5 Ultra OTA update will be including the following features incorporated into Google's own updates, VC Post reported.

  • New Settings menu icons
  • Camera focus, speed and accuracy improvements in Superior Auto mode
  • Owners of SmartWatch 3 can now be used to take pictures from the camera; the SW3 will act as a remote shutter button

Sony Xperia C5 and Xperia C5 Ultra updates will come in parts. Users will be required to tap "Install now" and simply follow the onscreen instructions. For manually initializing an update process, kindly go to Settings > About Phone > System Update > Check for updates.

Sony Xperia C5 and Xperia C5 Ultra should create back-up of files before updating to the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, NDTV reported. In addition, the phone should have at least 50% battery charge and enough storage space to accommodate the update files.
