The game developer of "Until Dawn," Supermassive Games, is reported to be developing a DLC for the rumored game entitled "Rush of Blood." The rumored game is said to be the demo for Sony's upcoming Virtual Reality headset PlayStation VR, formerly known as Project Morpheus.
In an e-mail Destructoid received from an unnamed source, game developer Supermassive Games is said to be at work developing a standalone DLC for "Until Dawn." The game is said to be connected to the game itself and will have an on-rail kind of gameplay. Other than that, temporarily, "Rush of Blood" will only run for 20 minutes.
The e-mail stated that, "Well you get transported around inside a mine cart; it's very literally an on-rails experience. There are a few scattered jumpscares, as you'd expect, but I played the same 20 minute section twice (once with DS4, once with dual Move controllers), so I'm hoping the full DLC is a lot more padded out. I didn't see which character I was playing as, I'm not sure if it's specified, but no names were mentioned at all."
The "Until Dawn" e-mail also explained the scenarios in the said DLC. It was described that the player will begin its progress after the snowy area of the map, where it will encounter numerous enemies in the process. The Sixth Axis speculated that the reason why Supermassive Games created "Rush of Blood" for only 20 minutes long was because it will only serve as a demo for Sony's upcoming headset, which is the PlayStation VR.
In a report by PlayStation Lifestyle, they stated that despite the information, Supermassive Games will be releasing a DLC of "Until Dawn" for the PlayStation VR.
"Until Dawn" Executive Producer, Pete Samuels, stated in an interview to, "[not] expect that there'll be an edition of the Until Dawn story to be playable in VR anytime soon."
