'Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice' Director Says Batman is Best because He's Human; Aged 'Argo' Ben Affleck Perfect for Role

"Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" director Zack Snyder described how he envisioned the Dark Knight during the celebration when the co-creator of Batman, Bob Kane, got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

"Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" director Snyder attended the celebration to honor Kane in front of the Guinness World Record Museum. There he explained why bringing another version of Batman to life was important to him, Comic Book Resources reported. The "Batman vs. Superman" director even added that he wasn't aiming on having an Adam West kind of Batman in his film.

In the report, Snyder said that, "He wasn't really the Batman I had imagined, Bob really had put him there in my mind, through years of TV shows, comic books, movies. I realized that we all -- every single one of us -- has a Batman, an imaginary Batman, in our minds, lurking in the shadows."

The director added that he enjoys Batman over the other known superheroes because he was human, iDigital Times reported. Though there isn't anything appealing about Batman having supernatural powers, Snyder kept the idea in mind in chosing Ben Affleck to play the Batman of his vision.

"I definitely wanted an older Batman. I wanted a war-weary Batman, that's why, in a lot of ways, Ben was really perfect for me -- we kind of aged him a little bit. It worked really great. I'm really excited about the Batman we created," said Snyder.

Snyder envisions that his Batman will stay true to its roots and use a fabric Batsuit for the character. He even told Comic Book Resources that he did not want the normal Batsuit for his older version of Batman.

"Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" will star Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, and Amy Adams as Lois Lane. It will be shown in theaters beginning March 25, 2016.
