'Fast & Furious 8' Rumors: 'Fast 8' Goes Back to Racing; Production to Grant Paul Walker's Request in 2017

"Fast & Furious 8" fans will definitely be more enthused and excited as the upcoming film goes back to its racing roots. The "Fast & Furious" movie franchise is one of the most successful films that has caught the attention of a lot of movie buffs.

"Fast & Furious 8," the first movie in the trilogy that will conclude the franchise, might be adapted from a car magazine racing story, Movie News Guide reported. Based on the website, when Vin Diesel had his first guest appearance in "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon," the upcoming film "Fast & Furious 8" was revealed to be just like the very first movie, as also reported by Vibe Magazine. Vin Diesel will play the character of Dom Toretto.

"The Last Witch Hunter" star, Diesel, also left a statement in another interview with MTV that he did not have any idea about the final title of the movie, though he keeps on saying "Fast 8" because he gets lazy.

He added, "I don't know if the official title's come out yet. It's never the official title. You have to understand. When you talk about titles and you talk about 'The Fast and the Furious' the first movie all through production, the back of my chair said 'Red Line.' This is like, this is par for the course for the 'Fast' franchise. We never know what the title is officially. Guys like me, they can get a little lazy with titles."

Meanwhile, Michelle Rodriguez, who plays the character of Letty or Leticia Ortiz said, "[Paul Walker] wanted to bring it back down to the core, which is the racing. He was always complaining about the special effects and the blue screens." Therefore, the concluding trilogy may also be considered as another tribute to Paul Walker's vision.

"Brick Mansions" actor Paul Walker played the character of Brian O'Conner. He passed away in a car crash in 2013. He was not able to finish filming the "Furious 7."

"Fast & Furious 8" is expected to be released on April 14, 2017 in the U.S.
