'Game of Thrones' Season 6 Spoilers: Gemma Whelan Reprises Role as Theon Greyjoy's Sister; Hints Yara Greyjoy's Death?

"Game of Thrones" star Gemma Whelan, who portrayed Theon Greyjoy's sister Yara in the fourth season, was expected to appear on the fifth season. The anticipation turned to disappointment, however, as "Game of Thrones" Season 5 focused more on House Stark's fate.

Yet, if the show followed the book's plot, Yara would have been dead by now. Fans brimmed with hope again since the announcement of Alfie Allen reprising his role as Theon Greyjoy in "Game of Thrones" Season 6. There might be a possibility that Yara will appear again as predicted, since Theon is likely going back to Iron Islands, according to IBTimes.

No one, not even the producers, has confirmed the final roster of actors in "Game of Thrones" Season 6. In an interview with Comedy, "The Wolfman" actress said that she was quite relieved that spoilers got leaked since it will lighten her burden of accidentally revealing something in the series and she could take the blame for it.

"Even when I said I'm going to the Northern Ireland on Wednesday to you just now, I thought 'Oh God, maybe I shouldn't say that.' You really watch your back on everything," said Whelan.

"But at least it's been leaked that I'm going to be in it, so I can talk freely about that," she added.

The British actress and comedian believed that the need for spoilers among fans will increase, since GoT writer George R.R. Martin has not released a book that will show a plot for the sixth season. Everyone will be in full anticipation on the fates of each House. So far, Martin has yet to announce the release of his next novel, "The Winds of Winter."

Whelan also shared that the first thing she wanted to know when she got this year's script was a confirmation of Yara Greyjoy's death or life. "Am I dead? Am I dead? Am I dead? - it's the first thing you look for," she said.

The actress admitted that if she learned that her character was dead, she would most likely hang out at the Belfast airport just to hide that information from people.

"Game of Thrones" Season 6 returns on HBO in 2016.
