There have been rumors suggesting that Apple is debuting a new 4-inch iPhone with A9 CPU in 2016.
According to Design and Trend, the traditional 4-inch iPhone will be making a "comeback" after Apple sales have struggled due to the abundance of attractive Android-powered alternatives in the market. The launch of the most recent large-screen only lines of iPhone made consumers think that Apple is likely to release a small screen version of the Apple iPhone 6c.
But all hope is not lost. According to Apple Insider, KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, whose predictions have not yet failed speculates that Apple's rumored 4-inch iPhone will most likely be similar to an improved iPhone 5s, which is the last iPhone to have a 4-inch version. Moreover, Kuo says that there is still demand for a smaller iPhone which Apple plans to take advantage in 2016. He also speculated that the "mini" iPhone will be launched together with next year's iPhone 7 flagship.
As to the specs of this mini iPhone, Kuo assums that it is going to come with a metal casing containing the usual set of sensors, circuits and processors. He also added that Apple will likely make the mini iPhone with an A9 CPU. He also notes that the newest technology "Force Touch" that the latest iPhones have might not be integrated with the rumored "mini" iPhones
Moreover, there is a likelihood that Apple will promote the 4-inch iPhone as a "budget" phone to go head to head with the popular android models today. It can be remembered that the last time that Apple attempted to market a cheap iPhone was with the plastic-backed iPhone 5c.
Lastly, Hon Hai a company more widely known as Foxconn is rumored to be the exclusive supplier of the undisclosed 4-inch iPhone which is expected to break 20 to 30 million unit sales in 2016.
