Meizu, one of the biggest Chinese gadget manufacturers, has revealed the most recent version of its mobile OS known as the Flyme 5.0 OS; a new version based on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The aims of this latest version are to give excellent user-interface, battery optimization, performance tweaks, and other features to enhance user-experience on different smartphones.
Flyme 5.0 OS is currently exclusive to China alone. However, in the coming days, it will become available to other smartphone models in batches. For users' information, Meizu posted a well-detailed outlook of the Flyme 5.0 OS update and its change log on its fan page. These give tech enthusiasts and users a full spectrum of Flyme 5.0 OS.
Initially, Flyme 5.0 OS was first revealed in China exclusively for Meizu devices, which include the MX5, M2 and M2 Note handsets. After several days, other devices like the Samsung Galaxy S5, availed of the custom ROMs. A step-by-step process of OS installations were also released as guide to technicians and users.
The procedure highly requires a user to have intermediate rooting skills to automatically void the device's warranty from the manufacturer. Missteps could brick the handset it not make it permanently irrecoverable.
1) Ensure the gadget is rooted before installing the ROM. Flyme OS Android 5.1.1 Lollipop custom ROM is exclusive to Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F). Using it in other handsets could result in bricking.
2) Custom ROM typically requires wiping out the entire storage. Make sure to back up the data before installing the OS.
3) Make sure that the device is installed on the PC properly.
4) The device must have 80 percent of battery to avoid the phone getting temporarily bricked when the OS installation process is stopped or interrupted mid-way.
In addition to the report, Flyme 5.0 OS includes multi-tasking, music locker screen, lock screen notifications, split screen mode to the desktop, and new customer assistant with reliable online chat support. Apart from that, it has a home search, loss reporting mode, tool box app, and new weather search 4 x 2 widget.
