All-time fan favorite Beth Maitland is set to appear again in the daytime soap "The Young and The Restless."
Soap Opera Digest reports that Traci Abbott is visiting home for the holidays and fans will see her again in Y&R on Dec. 24 and she will show up for a couple more episodes. Soap Shows says Traci has a kind and generous nature which help restore viewer's faith about love, compassion and honesty, proving that there can be good in Genoa City.
We Love Soaps noted that this will be Beth's first appearance in "The Young and The Restless" since the show's head writer Chuck Pratt took over last January. Beth first played Traci in 1982 and in 1985, she won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role in a Daytime Drama Series. The following year, she was nominated for Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Young Leading Actress on a Daytime Serial.
In addition to "The Young and The Restless," other projects Beth is known for include "Mr. Holland's Opus" and "Plaza Suite." She also known for her portrayal as Gloria in the web series "The Grove" where viewers voted her as one of the top five new web series actresses. She appeared in "The Bold and The Beautiful" too.
Y&R fans are pleased to hear the news and many took to social to express this. One fan wrote, "So long overdue! The Abbott's need you!" Another tweet reads, "Hooray! Best Christmas gift, aunt Traci coming home." One article comment says, "I'm so happy to hear this. Beth has long been my fave, and it has aggravated me to no end that Traci disappeared this year, especially during times her heart could have added so much to the show. Welcome back, Beth/Traci!"
