Fox's hip-hop drama, "Empire," has always treated fans with strings of outrageous moments. And as the show wraps up for the season, the audience will be witnessing one gigantic concert that will be featuring guest celebrity, Alicia Keys. As Lucious (Terrence Howard), and Brysherey Y. Gray's character, Hakeem, attempt to add their name in history by bagging the American Sound Awards. But what will Lucious do to undermine his own son?
Lucious' increased obsession has fueled his intense desire to be superior and to do just anything to win, even at his youngest son's expense. He thinks he is entitled and has all the means to be on the frontline of winning, except for that one music award. In Lucious' world, the award is more than anything, above anything. The financial aspects and his fans' devotion are just secondary to him. For him, winning is a symbol of supremacy, even godlike. No wonder, he will do just anything to win.
After Hakeem's nomination as Rapper of the Year, Lyon Dynasty planned to use the award to advance the brad. But the event will just end up Hakeem's entre for his own emotional struggles.
As revealed by the TV Guide Magazine, Jamal (Jussie Smollett) will also be performing alongside Alicia Keys to promote the American Sound Awards. Keys will be playing Skye Summers and will perform ballads with Jamal. Candace (Vivica A. Fox), Cookie's sister, will be introduced and will have a battle rap with Freda (Bre-Z). Freda, by the way, is Lucious' latest prodigy.
Mimi (played by Marisa Tomei), appears to have some surprise that hopefully will offer solutions to the problem.
As with Hakeem and Laz (Adam Rodriguez), the two will still be facing relationship problems.
More will unravel as the season approaches near ending.
