'The Expanse' Update: Season 1 Episode 1 "Dulcinea" Released Online

Ahead of its premiere, "The Expanse" just released the first episode on Monday, Nov. 23 on YouTube.

According to We Got This Covered, Syfy has planned a jam-packed two-month lineup ahead of them including two series and a brand-new miniseries. It was reported that they are looking forward to change their current TV schedule with the upcoming release of new projects.

The cable network kicks off a bold start as it plans to achieve its mission on making high-quality and notable sci-fi series since "Battle Star Galactica."

Considered as the network's most ambitious series, "The Expanse" is set in a future timeline that revolves around the Asteroid Belt. It is based on the hit sci-fi novel of the same name from Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck.

In the official synopsis from Syfy,"The Expanse" will revolve around the idea that the human race has already taken over the entire solar system under the leadership of The U.N.

The brand-new Syfy series features humans as they rely on the Asteroid Belt to live. However, the scarcity of resources will be the reason behind the tension between the planets.

It will revolve around the partnership of Detective Miller (Thomas Jane) and Ship captain Jim Holden (Steven Strait) on their new case. They are on a mission to find a missing young woman who is said to be connected to the "greatest conspiracy in human history."

"The Expanse" is developed by the creative duo behind "Children of Men" and "Cowboys and Aliens," Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby. The first two episodes will be helmed by Terry McDonough ("Breaking Bad," "Suits").

"The Expanse" stars Thomas Jane ("The Mist," "Punisher"), Steven Strait ("Sky High"), Dominique Tipper ("Vampire Academy"), Cas Anvar ("Source Code"), Wes Chatham ("The Help"), Shohreh Aghdashloo ("Scorpion"), Chad Coleman ("The Walking Dead") and Florence Faivre.

"The Expanse" Season 1 Episode 1 "Dulcinea" will be released on air on Monday, Dec. 14 at 10 p.m. on Syfy.
