"Clash of Clans" has joined (RED)'s fight against AIDS. All players using iOS devices can participate by downloading the optional update and buying the (Pile of Gems)RED from CoC game shop.
(RED) is non-profit organization which "harnesses the power of people and companies to help fight AIDS. When you choose to buy (RED) a portion of the profits goes to HIV/AIDS programs. To date, over $315 million has been generated with 100% of the money going to work on the ground. Over 60 million people have been impacted through Global Fund programs that (RED) supports."
The gems are only available up to Dec. 4. Supercell said 100 percent of the proceeds will go to (RED).
Meanwhile, there's a lot of changes coming to the popular mobile game "Clash of Clans" in time for the holidays. The developers have promised a two-week sneak peek of what's to come, which already started last week.
The changes are aimed at making the game fairer and more balanced, giving the players more reason to build strong defenses as well as attack others. The shield system is being revamped in a major way. For one, a Town Hall destruction no longer grants shield time. Also, the changes in shields will enable players to attack even when they are still shielded. Instead of losing the entire shield, attacking would cost three hours of shield time. The amount of deduction will increase for the subsequent attacks.
Town Halls will now contain a share of gold, elixir and dark elixir storage. According to Supercell, Town Hall and Clan Castle will count as resource buildings and Goblins will target them for twice the damage. Town Hall loot storage will be equal to one Gold Storage, one Elixir Storage and one-fourth Dark Elixir storage, which will increase by Town Hall Level. A Town Hall can be looted only when it is completely destroyed. That gives players more reasons to protect their Town Halls from both trophy pushers and loot hunters.
"Clash of Clans" announced in October during the ClashCon that major updates are happening to the game. New Town Hall 11, new defense structure and a new hero are going to be introduced. With only a few days left for the two-week sneak peek schedule, many believe that the massive "Clash of Clans" update will be released on Dec. 7.
