After the explosive "Gotham" season 2 midseason finale, viewers are keen to find out if Theo Galavan is really dead and who among the villains will set foot in the city after the winter hiatus.
In "Gotham" season 2, episode 11, Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) finally faced off with Theo Galavan (James Frain) and though the outcome is expected, viewers are still thinking whether Theo is truly dead.
In the hopes of saving Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) from Theo, Jim set aside his moral code and shot the villain. Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) stuck an umbrella down Theo's throat, too, just to be sure he will no longer come back from the dead. Will he really not come back?
According to International Business Times, the chance of Theo being alive is not at all slim. If viewers tuned in until the end of the last episode, "Worse than a Crime," they would have seen Theo's body being moved to the Indian Hills, a facility where different experiments are conducted on people. Therefore, if the facility has a way of resurrecting the dead, then fans should brace for a Theo comeback, maybe not in his old form though.
If Theo's appearance during the second half of "Gotham" season 2 is not set in stone, the appearance of Dr. Strange (B.D. Wong) is a sure go already. Production has confirmed that the doctor villain will be introduced during the midseason of the series working at the Indian Hills facility.
Another likely event that will happen in the remaining episodes of "Gotham" season 2 is Ed Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) getting caught for the death of Kristen Kringle (Chelsea Spack), Bustle noted. This could be due to the fact that Leslie Thompson (Morena Baccarin) is keeping an eye on Nygma and once he gets caught, it would be the end for the character. On the other hand, if the production would like to explore on his character more, Nygma could just easily add Leslie to the list of people he has killed.
Lastly, with Theo out of the picture, Penguin can go back to gaining control over the crimes of Gotham. He might start building his nightclub empire to earn money to fund his evil deeds.
"Gotham" season 2 will be back on Feb. 29, 2016 on FOX.
