"Minority Report" failed to reel in more viewers all throughout the season, but many took to Twitter to air their sentiments about the TV series' season finale that aired last Monday, Nov. 30.
The "Minority Report" season 1 finale had Lara Vega (Maegan Good) and Will Blake (Willmer Valderrama) successfully stop a terrorist group from poisoning the senators. The three Precogs, Agatha (Laura Regan), Arthur (Nick Zano) and Dash (Stark Sands) were to be sold by Director Blomfeld (Reed Diamond). However, the three were able to escape and run away for a chance at a new life.
The finale of the FOX series was part of the production's plan just in case "Minority Report" would not be picked up for another season.
Max Borenstein, executive producer of the show, said: "We always had this 10-episode arc in mind because we were always airing 10 episodes [this fall]. We have a really cool, satisfying ending, and if we get to do a second season, we'll pick it up from there. But if we don't, it'll be a great ending regardless."
"Minority Report" never got more than 3.5M viewers. What is more disappointing for the Fox series is that the number of people tuning in to the show dropped each week, and the most recent statistics show that episode 9 only garnered around 1.5M viewers. Hence, many viewers are already predicting that the show will not return for season 2, noted Carter Matt.
On the other hand, some fans of the show are still hoping that "Minority Report" will be back for season 2, MStars News reported. Some of the fans mentioned that the finale had a good ending in case the show decided not to be back next season but they still wish the show will not get cancelled.
With the Twitter post from "Minority Report" official account, the show's future remains unclear.
