The new "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" trailer has been released and many fans already have been expressing dismay over how the three-minute preview spoiled the entire film, while others feel otherwise.
Many are disappointed with the second trailer of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" as they believe it is too packed with information that is deemed crucial to the film.
According to Caped Crusades, the preview is in essence the entire movie. The conflict between Superman (Henry Cavill) and Batman (Ben Affleck) has been established in the trailer. Not only that, it also shows that they have resolved their problems by fighting alongside each other against the villain Doomsday.
For others, finding out that apart from Doomsday, Lex Luthor (Jesse Eissenberg) is the other big villain is a no-no. Yet, perhaps the biggest disappointment is the inclusion of how Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) first met the two superheroes. Such an earth-shattering moment should have been kept under wraps instead of being included in the three-minute trailer.
On the other hand, some could argue that the trailer shows just enough to pique the curiosity of people, making them want to know more and increasing the likelihood of them watching the film when it hits theaters.
The title "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is a giveaway in itself that people already know that the two famous superheroes are in conflict with each other and that eventually, they would resolve the conflict as the film serves as a prequel to the upcoming "Justice League" movie.
What is more important is that the preview does not show the in-betweens, Outer Places pointed out. The small details that lead to the climax are just as important as the explosive scenes. One cannot stand without the other. The trailer does not show how Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne learn about each other's secret identities nor how they have come to resolve their differences.
A scene from the trailer, in fact, poses a question rather than spoiling the film. A vandalized Robin suit is shown and that in itself would make people wonder if Batman's sidekick will make an appearance either in present Gotham or in a flashback.
Meanwhile, regarding Wonder Woman's epic appearance during the big fight, some people might feel it too much of a giveaway. On the other hand, people may look at it as an epic entrance which leads to an even more epic battle of skills for the superheroine. People have only seen a part of her powers, the mighty shield, but Wonder Woman has yet to showcase her sword-fighting and lasso-whipping skills which are not shown in the controversial trailer.
"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will hit theaters on Mar. 25, 2016.
