Nexon and Big Huge Games' "DomiNations" hit 17 million downloads in just less than six months after its release in April, leading to its newest and biggest update called the "World War Battle."
Gamespot reported that the 17-M downloads helped in the release of the game's latest feature, "World War Battle." The new revision lets 50 players each side to join the battle and control a part of the map at the same time. The battles are held over 100 territories around the world. The winning team can have plenty of extra bonus loots.
The new feature gives players the capability to create a structure called Command Post for defense. Players can also add the War Base and Map Editor depending on what they want.
Tim Train, the CEO of Big Huge Games, stated: "DomiNations was built for strategy gamers by strategy gamers, and we're excited to launch our number one player-requested feature: World War. World War adds a brand new layer of strategy that rewards teamwork, creative base building, and clever approaches to battles. We're looking forward to the global conflagration!"
Two distinct phases will be created right after the "World War Battle" is set off. The first day is devoted for planning, in which the alliance team collaborates and conspires through visiting and inspecting the bases of the enemies. During the planning day, the players can also work on their defences and donate troops to the other team members.
Then, the second day is dedicated for an extreme global combat. During the battle, each alliance member can attack two times and five stars will be awarded to players that destroy a base. The team who has been awarded the most number of stars will get the victory at the end of the war. The winning team gets the lion's share.
According to the General Manager of Nexon M, John Robinson, "World War is an intense two days of strategy and battle when you're locked in a full-scale 50-on-50 war."
"In bringing competitive alliance-vs-alliance multiplayer to DomiNations, Big Huge Games gives every player the opportunity to gear up for war with their friends and fight for global supremacy," Robinson added.
DomiNations can be downloaded from the App Store for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch users and Google Play for Android users.
