'The Code' Remake: FOX To Adapt Aussie Series With 'Justified' Creator

A "Justified" reunion is about to happen!

According to Deadline, FOX has greenlighted "The Code" TV adaptation which will also reunite the creative minds behind the popular FX series "Justified."

Creator Graham Yost ("Boomtown," "Band of Brothers"), who was known for developing "Justified," will lead the team with executive producers Michael Dinner ("The Wonder Years") and Fred Golan ("The Big Easy," "Roswell").

"The Code" is about brothers Ned (Dan Spielman) and Jesse Banks (Ashley Zukerman). The first has a job in the media industry while the other one works as a hacker. Their lives became endangered after learning about the dark secrets of those who are in the government.

The U.S. remake of "The Code" will be written by Yost and Golan. Dinner, on the other hand, will also helm the pilot episode of "The Code," similar to his work on the FX series, The "Justified."

Aside from the update from Yost's team, the network also gave the series a "script commitment with significant penalty." And with the attachment of the big names from "Justified," there's a huge possibility that "The Code" remake might have a TV pilot in the future.

The Australian series was created by Shelley Birse under Playmaker Media and ABC. The series made its debut on Sept. 21, 2014 and was renewed for the second season.

Since last year, "The Code" continues to be a huge hit in the country as it garnered several accolades in highly-acclaimed award-giving bodies such as "Best TV Drama Series" and six other awards from the Academy of Cinema and Television Arts awards and also the "Best Direction In a TV Drama Series" from the Australian Directors Guild Awards.

"The Code" stars Dan Spielman, Ashley Zukerman, Adele Perovic, Adam Garcia as Perry Benson, Chelsie Preston Crayford, Paul Tassone, Dan Wyllie, Aden Young and David Wenham. The series also features a supporting role by "Xena: Warrior Princess" star Lucy Lawless.
