Microsoft's ‘Age of Empires: World Domination’ Is Finally Available in Apple and Android Devices in Selected Countries

KLab Games and Microsoft's "Age of Empires: World Domination" (AOEWD) has finally soft-launched on iOS and Android in selected countries.

It can be recalled that a few years ago, Microsoft had been rumored to be bringing some of their popular gaming IPs to mobile devices, incuding "Age of Empires" (the game was officially called "Age of Empires: World Domination" in April 2014). The mobile game was finally launched on Monday, Dec. 7 and is now available on the Google Play Store and App Store for Android and Apple users, respectively.

Version of this game is available on the Apple App Stores in Singapore, Philippines and other select countries, according to Touch Arcade. As a real-time strategy game, "Age of Empires: World Domination" lets users build up a kingdom, army and other important things that players need to get started. The goal is to take down enemies, take over their kingdom and then dominate the world.

The game offers features where players can manage their battle resources, deploy troops and wage war with enemies on the battlefield all in real time. Players can explore the map, lay waste to enemies hiding in the fog-of-war, adapt to the tide of battle and respond to their enemies. Gamers can also customize their empire without limits -- they can create an empire with structures based from history's greatest civilizations.

Another feature lets players choose their own progress with Technology Trees available within every empire. They can also recreate historical empires by mastering all technologies. There are a total of 100 legendary heroes to choose from to take charge of the empire. Users can choose from an array of heroes, including King Arthur, Cao Cao, Knut the Great, Joan the Arc, and Oda Nobunaga. Teaming up heroes with specific troops is also possible in order to create an ultimate battle unit.

Users in the supported region can now download "Age of Empires: World Domination" while others have to wait until the game is officially launched, which Microsoft has yet to announce.
