CD Projekt RED Teases 'Witcher 3' Fans With Two Screenshots From Upcoming Expansion 'Blood and Wine'

It's been a successful year for "Witcher 3" and the developers at CD Projekt RED is working on its second expansion which, based on the newly released screenshots, will surely bring another great game experience for its avid fans.

As previously reported, CD Projekt Red's Community Lead & Website Coordinator Marcin Momot describes the upcoming expansion "Blood and Wine" as "awesome!" He tweeted that he was looking at the new features and changes during a meeting. And now, CD Projekt RED, is sharing two of those things that Marcin Momot has seen ahead of us.

According to Gematsu, CD Projekt RED has just released two screenshots from the upcoming "The Witcher 3" expansion known as "Blood and Wine." And to further tease fans, CD Projekt RED game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz says, "Blood and Wine, the second expansion for The Witcher 3, is on the horizon. It's a massive new land to explore, visually unlike anything you saw in Wild Hunt or Hearts of Stone, and it too is brimming with stories we want you to discover."

"Blood and Wine" is said to be a "20-hour tale" that will introduce Toussaint, a brand new region. Moreover, according to Gematsu, the expansion will take Geralt to "a land untainted by war, where an atmosphere of carefree indulgence and knightly ritual masks an ancient, bloody secret."

According to a report ran by GameSpot, "Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" was awarded as the Video Game of the Year at the 2015 Game Awards last week. The other nominees for the same title were "BloodBorne," "Fallout 4," "Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain" and "Super Mario Maker."

The competition among AAA games is surely pushing developers at CD Projekt RED to work harder in order to bring more amazing content to such a great game as "Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" that is worthy of such award.

"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" is now available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. "Blood and Wine" is expected to be released in the first half of 2016.
