Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed's marriage has been a favorite item in online rumors. Reportedly, the couple are having marriage problems again due to Ian's dream of becoming a father.
According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, Ian is having thoughts of quitting "The Vampire Diaries" to be a dad before the show is cancelled. However, Nikki is not yet ready to sacrifice her career and get pregnant. It has been reported that the couple are having trouble since Ian is very much focused on starting their family while Nikki on the other hand is into her career.
It was just last September that Ian gushes to ET Online how excited he is to have kids with Nikki. When he was asked if he wants to be a dad, he gave a happy answer and said, "Oh, hell yes! Absolutely."
Ian added, "It's a pretty crazy time and place to bring a child into this turbulent and insane world -- but I really can't wait to do it and really just love it."
Reed was very happy to marry Somerhalder, however, his baby fever seems to be the one causing problems in their marriage. When it comes to having a child, the couple seem to not see things eye to eye.
Meanwhile, things are not looking good for "The Vampire Diaries" ever since Nina Dobrev left the show. Somerhalder and other "TVD" cast have been teasing of Elena's possible return to the show. However, it is still not effective to attract viewers. It seems like the show is having a hard time gaining viewers causing the ratings to drop. The show seems to be losing its momentum to a point that it was shifted from the usual Thursday night schedule to Friday night.
And according to Movie News Guide, the lowest ratings as well as the rescheduling are hints that it is possible that season 7 will be the last of "The Vampire Diaries." However, a big speculation adds up to that which says that it also has something to do with Somerhalder's exit from the show.
To add more to that, it was previously reported that Nikki is also one of the huge factor why Ian might leave "TVD" because she always feel threatened that Nina might come back and she does not want them to reconnect in the show. Nina already confirmed that she is no longer going back to the show but Nikki is still paranoid about the whole idea. Nikki just wants Ian to get away from the stigma of his past with Nina.
And now that "The Vampire Diaries" is not doing good then there is a big chance for Ian to jump off the ship and leave the show and focus more on making his family grow. This is the perfect time for Nikki to reconsider Ian's dream of becoming a father if she really wants him to quit the show and get away from the shadows of his past with Dobrev.
