The iPhone Smart Battery Case for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s has been released just recently and it is priced at $99. However, it has been a topic of some jokes on the internet for its appearance.
Apple's iPhone Smart Battery Case is made out of high quality silicon rubber and is nice to the touch as well as offers much grip on the phone. There is no way that one's iPhone will just slip away. The enclosure itself hugs the phone perfectly, incorporates a soft-pass-through for the volume and power buttons, an acoustic port for the speaker, and cut-outs for the ring/silent button and the camera lens. The odd thing is, there is a bump on the back end of it, and yes, it is no less than the battery, as shared by The Verge.
The Smart Battery Case for the iPhone is described as, based on the collected descriptions, a tumor, an iPhone who-ate-my-iPod, and an iPhone with too much credit card on it. It is not aesthetically pleasing. However, the iPhone slips in and out perfectly fine. Another great thing is, it uses a Lightning cable, so there is no need to bring an extra micro USB cable. Plus, the iPhone Smart Battery Case has several extra cellular antennas built-in to it that are said to boost cellular performance, the Apple Insider reported.
The market is flooded with lots of iPhone accessories and similar products have been on the market already, way before the iPhone Smart Battery Case. One product is the Incipio Offgrid Express which costs $50. It is cheaper and offers more juice, a 3,000 mAh battery, which is more than the Apple's 1,877 mAh. Another great one out there is Mophie's Juice Pack Air, with a little less juice with a 2,750 mAh battery. In relation to the capacity, Apple's Smart Battery Case will not be able to fully charge the iPhone 6 to a full capacity.
Lastly, the iPhone Smart Battery Case, once plugged in with the iPhone, will start pumping out its juice. Unlike the competition, one can turn it on or off.
