The popular Korean pop group EXO is performing on stage again to promote their latest album "Sing For You" released last Dec. 10. However, fans could not help but notice that their Chinese member, Lay, has been cut off in their promotional video for their comeback performances.
According to Koreaboo, some fans were furious with the apparent disregard to Lay when he was excluded in the preview clip. The video which was aired on Dec. 11 only shows individual photos of the eight members -- Chan Yeol, Baek Hyun, Chen, Do, XiuMin, Kai, Se Hun, and Suho -- from their winter album jacket. Lay was only visible in the group shot with all nine members.
One of the popular comments on Instiz's article about the incident says, "this is pissing me off....you can't just say that it was a mistake." Another comment reads, "this is making me so angry...he's an angel.....and Music Bank do your job properly."
A fan shared on Instiz that Lay's fans teared up when Lay said, "Hey guys I'm going to protect you all. I wanted to be on music shows. Please don't hate me. Please don't forget that I'm a member of EXO."
Lay has been missing in most of EXO's activities because of his solo schedules in China, which could be the reason he was cut off in the preview. But as per Kpopstarz, a fan believes it is not an excuse, saying, "That's not the point. Even when EXO was promoting 'Call Me Baby' or 'Love Me Right,' all the comeback teasers had Lay in it. Even if he promoted only once or twice. This time they really cut him off."
During the favorite male group's showcase of their new album, Lay opened up that 2015 has been difficult to EXO and he tearfully apologized to other members. He said, "To the members, I'm sorry and I love you."
"Lay-hyung has been busy with a lot of activities in China. So he couldn't spend a lot of time with us and he felt sorry," Baekhyun explained, "Although he doesn't have to."
