'The Young And The Restless' Cast & Spoilers: Scott Elrod Officially Out Of the Show

"The Young and The Restless" actor Scott Elrod, who plays Joe Clark, is officially out of CBS hit soap opera. Soap Opera Digest has confirmed that Elrod is no longer part of the show.

According to Soap Opera Spy, Joe Clark was sentenced to six years imprisonment out of state. The turn of events in Clark's life does not shock fans anymore. "Y&R" writers were able to hit a road block in Elrod's storyline.

When Devon Hamilton and Cane Ashby talked about Joe's fate, Devon told Cane that it was a good thing that Joe was able to settle with a plea deal with Christine. Cane explained, "Well, he admitted to extorting money from you and to frame me. He's gonna start his sentence immediately." Devon also pointed out to Cane that there is nothing to worry and be scared about anymore because Joe will be thrown far away.

Given those scenes, the "Y&R" fans and viewers already had a hint on what's waiting for Elrod's character. The emphasis about Joe's blackmail, extortion, and Lily's affair storylines made the whole thing clear that everything was already handled accordingly for Elrod's exit on the show. Everything happened so fast for Elrod's character and one of the reasons for this is that he landed a huge role on ABC's primetime series "Grey's Anatomy".

Scott posted photos of the show's set on his Instagram account and wrote, "Great to be back on ABC primetime, and beyond thrilled that I'm wearing a white coat!" The photos revealed that he will be portraying as Dr. Will Thorpe at Grey + Sloane Memorial Hospital.

The 40-year-old actor started playing Joe Clark in 2014. He recently appeared in "How To Get Away With Murder" and "Anger Management."

"The Young and the Restless" airs Mondays to Fridays at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
