iOS 9.2 update comes to iPhone, iPad and iPad touch, bringing fixes, improvements and, unfortunately, new bugs.
The latest version of Apple's mobile OS, at 250 MB download size, is compatible to devices not older than iPhone 4s, iPad 2, iPad mini, iPad Pro and fifth generation iPod touch. iOS 9.2 includes improvements to Apple News, Siri, Apple Music, iBooks, Mail Drop and Safari among others.
Installation problems, Wi-Fi connectivity and Touch ID issues persist. We've listed here some tips to fix these three common issues. And as if these are not annoying enough, iOS 9.2 also carry additional problems, such as personal hotspot issues, keyboard bug, Calendar issues, Apple Music troubles, screen time on, battery life, and clipboard problems.
That seems a lot more to piss one off, so it is important to be aware of these issues before you take the risk of updating your Apple devices. Because when you do, there's no turning back as Apple has stopped signing in the older version iOS 9.1. The option to downgrade is no longer possible, Gotta Be Mobile has reported. The news came just two weeks after iOS 9.2 has been officially released.
If you're happy with your current iOS version, you may just want to hold off upgrading to iOS 9.2. Apple has already started the first beta test for iOS 9.2.1 anyway, which hopefully will be able to fix issues plaguing Apple devices users. It was released to registered developers and public beta program users on Dec. 18. While there is no official word yet on when iOS 9.2.1 will roll out, it is assumed not to take long because it is expected to be just a minor patch.
Meanwhile, there is no iOS 9.2 jailbreak yet, but there's a video on YouTube where TaiG talks about its plan to release a new untethered jailbreak solution.
