‘Marvel Comics’To Offer “Star Wars” Comic Books Every Month

"Marvel Comics" will offer diehard fans of "Star Wars" a comic book series. This project aims to be released every month.

Philly reports that "Marvel Comics" will be publishing "Star Wars" comic books at a monthly basis. Now that they are working hand in hand with Disney, the popularity of these comic books and novels are sure to take over comic book shops.

The first January relaunch issue of "Star Wars" comic sold 10 times over the considerable copies that is considered a hit. That was over a million copies sold. Over 250,000 copies sold for Princess Leia while 300,000 copies were sold for DarthVader. Comic books that were titled as such topped all Superman comic books and slid within the top 47 best-selling comics.

The original movie and characters have certainly played a huge role in the success of "Marvel Comics" as stated by Axel Alonso. Alonso is the editor-in-chief of Marvel. He also ads that all they did was to follow through with their promise of delivering stories that count and that of high quality. He believes that the fans have seen that they did come through with that promise.

The meticulous planning and casting has offered something different to readers around the country. Alonso adds that they have captured new readers who continue to crave for more. Both Alonso and Jordan D. White say that "Marvel Comics" is regularly working with Lucasfilm Ltd to choose who gets the starring role.

IGN adds that they are pretty happy with how "Marvel Comics" has worked on the "Star Wars" comics. They actually have put together a list of nine different comics that they would want to see Marvel publish and build on the characters in the near future. The characters like The Knights of Ren, Captain Phasma, Adventures of Hand solo & Chewbaca, the Origin of Rey, and The Life and Times of FN-2187.

This may take some time though because Episode VIII will be published until 2017. There is a possibility of Disney coming up with a TV series for "Star Wars" or a spinoff film.
