The American Film Institute or most commonly known as AFI has announced its annual list of best TV shows.
According to Rotten Tomatoes, the film organization just released the entire list of the most-watched and critically lauded TV series that made noise in 2015. Aside from TV shows, AFI also made a list of best movies of the year.
According to the official site, AFI's 2015 Top Ten Movies & TV Shows will be honored in a special non-competition luncheon with the nominees and jurors. It will be held on Jan. 8.
The roster has added a lot of freshman series included in the 2015-2016 television season. It includes music soap opera drama "Empire," "Breaking Bad" spinoff "Better Call Saul," thriller "Mr. Robot" and the comedies "Master of None" and "UnReal."
The 2015 AFI list also honored on-going shows, which has spanned several seasons since their pilot episodes aired. Some of these series are the TV adaptation of "Fargo," the highly-acclaimed "Game of Thrones," political thriller-drama "Homeland," black comedy series "Black-ish" and the Cold War period drama "The Americans."
AFI also selected the AMC series, "Mad Men," for this year's AFI Special Award.
