‘Assassin's Creed’ Movie Spoilers: Michael Fassbender's Character to Work with Another Assassin? Actor Admits He Never Played the Game Before His Casting

The highly anticipated movie version of the hit game "Assassin's Creed" continues with its production in Spain and a new set photo is making rounds online, attracting more curiosity from fans.

In the new image released, Michael Fassbender is seen once more donning the hooded costume on-set of "Assassin's Creed." This time, he was snapped with another character, who is also in a similar hooded ensemble in blue, played by actress Ariane Labed.

It is still unknown which character Labed is playing in the movie, while Fassbender seems to be playing Aguilar in the set photo. The Irish-German actor plays famed characters in "Assassin's Creed," the protagonist Callum Lynch and his ancestor Aguilar. The image shows the duo on top of a roof surveying or possibly spying on someone.

Meanwhile, Fassbender mentioned in an interview that he had never played the game before he was approached by the production team to play the role. According to Collider, the 38-year-old actor started playing the game after he agreed to play Callum/Aguilar and has been playing since.

"I've played it since [being offered the job] mainly to get an idea of the physicality of the character. We're striving to find something special. We believe the whole concept around it is special and want to service that the best we can," Fassbender said. "The fans are really passionate: very specific and they expect accuracy and historical detail. We're really trying to capitalize and feed on and enjoy the fun element. We're working hard to make this something special."

Filming of "Assassin's Creed" is on-going. The much-awaited movie version is helmed by Justin Kurzel, who also directed Fassbender in "Macbeth." The movie includes a slew of quality actors including Brendan Gleeson (Callum's Father), Jeremy Irons (Alan Rikkin) and Marion Cotillard, whose characters are yet to be revealed.

Recently, Ubisoft teases Alan Rikkin's business card as the CEO of Abstergo Industries. The card contains Rikkin's email address and contact numbers which when dialed or a message is sent to, a voicemail and email reply says, "Rikkin is out but will be back on March 25, 2016." Many are sure that this means a teaser will be released on the said date.

"Assasson's Creed" will be shown in cinemas on Dec. 21, 2016.
