As previously reported, "Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain" designer Hideo Kojima is officially out of Konami. A former Konami Tech Director Julien Mercaron has revealed that there was a major altercation between Konami and Kojima's team, which lead to Kojima and his studio being reduced to a third party contractor by the company he helped build. It was also mentioned that despite his ordeal with Konami, he finished the development of "Metal Gear Solid V."
Now that Hideo Kojima has left the company, "Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain" will still live on. And the publisher has shared with its fans its plans for the successful title. According to Express, the publisher first addressed rumors that the "Metal Gear Solid V" will be the last in the series. Konami reportedly has hired a new development staff to get to work on a new "Metal Gear" in both Tokyo and L.A.
Konami has posted an opening for the "New Metal Gear" Development Staff in the Jobs section of Konami's website. The listing has enumerated the following qualifications:
·Experience in high-end game development, planning, etc.
·Boundless imagination, and the capacity for exciting new ideas
·A strong passion toward game creation
·The communication skills to effectively communicate your ideas
This is an assurance that without it's former designer, the "Metal Gear" lore will move on. Konami will be foolish not to continue the series as, according to Express, "Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain" has outperformed titles like "The Witcher 3" and "Bloodborne" with a usual score of 95 in most review sites. Moreover, it has recently received two recognitions at the 2015 Game Awards. No other specific plans for the title has been revealed.
In the meantime, according to GameSpot, Kojima has formed a new production team and has partnered with Sony to work on a PlayStation 4-exclusive title. Sony has published a YouTube video that announced the said partnership.
It looks like all is well for both Hideo Kojima and Konami.
