Nintendo releases special edition of 2DS. This is in celebration with its upcoming 20 years anniversary of "Pokemon."
Cinema Blend reports that "Pokemon" games will be prepackaged with the special edition of Nintendo 2DS. This special edition console of Nintendo comes in 4 different colors.
Report says that this Nintendo 2DS with prepackaged "Pokémon" games will be launched in Japan market on Feb. 27, 2016. It is noted that the console will only have that its theme color but also have a matching monster-capture game, all for free.
This matching monster-capture game and themed-color means that if gamers would pick this "20th anniversary edition of a red Nintendo 2DS" then they would also get "Pokemon" Red. If the gamers choose "20th anniversary edition of a green Nintendo 2DS," then they will also have "Pokemon" Green in their console. And, if "20th anniversary edition of a yellow Nintendo 2DS" is chosen, then "Pokemon" Yellow is bundled in with their device. The same goes with "Pokemon" Blue for "20th anniversary edition of a blue Nintendo 2DS."
Some gamers might get it wrong thinking that this is but a 20 year old "Gameboy," which is already outdated. But contrary to this thinking, this new 2DS is definitely upgraded and will surely satisfy its gamers as far as "today's standards of portable gaming" are concerned.
The "20th anniversary edition Nintendo 2DS" does not need Gameboy link cable in order to play against other players worldwide. Report says that players would be able to connect wirelessly using the internet, which is noted a first "in the history of the original 4 'Pokemon' games." Players could battle other players from different regions of the world.
Game Rant also mentions that aside from having all these 4 themed-color Nintendo 2DS, the "Pokemon" Red, Yellow, and Blue would also be re-released in Nintendo 3DS. It is also noted that fans in Japan would be "getting more with the forthcoming Virtual Console titles."
