Tech giant Apple has released the iOS 9.2 version earlier this month, a big update that brings lots of new features, fixes and performance improvements. While some may hold off upgrading to the latest firmware because of new bugs it introduced, there are exciting features that would make you choose to install the update. We've listed three of them.
SD card support
Finally, iPhone devices compatible with iOS 9.2 software get SD cards support. This is through the Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader which allows user to connect a digital camera directly to the iPhone or iPad and easily download photos and videos.
When the Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader with a card has been connected to the iPhone or iPad, the Photos app will automatically open and the photos will be organized into Moments, Collections and Years.
This SD support is compatible with the following devices: iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPad with Retina display, iPad mini, iPad mini 2, iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 4 and iPad Pro.
Unknown caller identifier
Linking any of your email app to the default Apple Mail app in iOS 9.2 can help you identify an unknown caller. The incoming call from a number not saved on your contacts is linked to an email message, which can give information on who is likely the caller.
Even if you normally use the Gmail app or another app to read your email, you may want to link it to the default Apple Mail app in iOS 9. The new features include the ability to link an incoming call from an unknown number to an email message so that it can tell you who is likely calling you.
Apple Music improved app
iOS 9.2 now added an "iCloud Download" button for saving songs or albums that users can listen to while offline. The songs that have been downloaded are also indicated in My Music and Playlists. In addition, the Classical music section includes works, composers and performers, and the most recently changed playlist goes on top.
