There’s No Turning Back From iOS 9.2 Update Now

Two weeks after the official iOS 9.2 update has been released, Apple has already stopped signing in the iOS 9.1 version. This means that once your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, have been upgraded, there's no turning back as the downgrade is no longer possible.

This is actually not a surprise anymore as the tech giant already noted that devices running on iOS 9.2 can no longer be downgraded to older versions. At least officially. For a limited period after the release, users can downgrade to previous iOS version.

iOS 9.2 has a download size of 250 MB and is compatible to devices not older than iPhone 4s, iPad 2, iPad mini, iPad Pro and fifth generation iPod touch. The latest version of Apple OS includes improvements to Apple News, Siri, Apple Music, iBooks, Mail Drop and Safari among others.

Some users though experience persistent problems after the update and sometimes would opt to just go back to older iOS. Installation, Wi-Fi connectivity and Touch ID are the three most common issues. Although downgrading is no longer an option, there are still some workarounds users can do to fix these.

Apple devices owners can also just hold off upgrading to iOS 9.2 because Apple has already started the first beta test for iOS 9.2.1. Hopefully, this upcoming patch will be able to fix issues plaguing Apple devices. iOS 9.2.1 first beta was released to registered developers and public beta program users on Dec. 18. While there is no official word yet on when the patch will roll out, it is expected not to take long since it is presumed to be just a minor update.

There is no iOS 9.2 jailbreak yet as well, but there's a YouTube video where TaiG talks about its plan to release a new untethered jailbreak solution.
