Users of Motorola G3 in India would be delighted to finally receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update and bid the Lollipop goodbye.
Motorola India last week announced via Twitter that the new Android OS is rolling out to the third generation of Moto G. It wrote, "Here is something new and amazing for your Moto G (3rd Gen.), the Android 6.0 Marshmallow!"
According to GSM Arena, the update has a size of 2GB and software version of 24.11.25.en.US. It comes just two weeks after Android 6.0 Marshmallow was released to Moto G (2015 devices) in the United States and Canada. The update includes Google's security patch for the month of December, along with new Marshmallow features such as Google Now on Tap, Android Pay and Doze mode.
The update comes over the air and may take time for some to receive it. To manually check if your device has received the update, go to Settings > About Phone > System Update. Once available, you will be prompted to download the update and install when complete.
Based on the official list from GSM Arena, other Motorola devices that are scheduled to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in the coming weeks/months are: Motorola Moto X Pure Edition (3rd gen), Motorola Moto X Style (3rd gen), Motorola Moto X Play, Motorola Moto X Pure edition (2nd gen), Motorola DROID Turbo, Motorola Moto MAXX, and Motorola Moto Turbo. Meanwhile, Master Herald reported that Android Marshmallow is also now available on Moto G3 in the U.S. but the device has to be unlocked.
