A lavish 11,000-square-foot duplex penthouse in New York's West Village has been sitting in the market since April 2015. Originally priced at $39.8 million, it was stripped down to $29.8 million barely three months after. Now, Curbed NY reported that the luxury apartment suffered another price cut, and is now listed at $25.5 million.
Dubbed as "mansion in the sky," the flashy pad has once been home to Hollywood a-lister Robert DeNiro, who lived in the posh suites with his wife from 2012 to 2014, after a fire caused significant damage to his New York home.
DeNiro is a known avid real estate investor, owning several luxurious properties around the Tribeca area. It is no wonder that he chose this penthouse as his temporary home, as the loft is described as "one of the most magnificent penthouse homes in New York City."
The listing, under Dolly Lenz Real Estate, also calls the property as a "contemporary masterpiece," with sleek architectural lines and black and white interiors. Located at 165 Perry Street, the penthouse occupies the top two floors of a Premiere West Village building. Tall windows surround both levels, providing the prospective homeowner with a 360-degree view of the Hudson River and the city.
Truly fit for a celebrity, the penthouse has five bedrooms, four and a half baths, and boasts of a grand living room with wood burning fireplace. It also features wide landscaped terrace spaces on both levels.
The master suite is a sanctuary in itself, with two walk-in closets, a majestic en suite, and its own fireplace. Other features include a library, office, formal dining room, and a chef's kitchen equipped with twin Subzero refrigerators. The property also comes with a private garage in the building with provision for multiple cars.
Despite the tempting amenities, the posh penthouse has yet to entice a buyer. Will the latest price cut do the trick?
