Oprah Winfrey just purchased an extraordinary lavish high-tech ski home for $14 million in the ski resort town of Telluride, Colorado.
Said property is owned by businessman and African art collector Bob Wall who is the executive chief of Theatrix Interactive and Clarity Wireless. He sold the sophisticated contemporary home fully furnished, Zillow reported.
The media mogul's new home features five-bedroom and 6.5-bathroom on a 3.25 site on the slope side of Mountain Village. It also comes with a sauna and a seven-person hot tub.
One feature that made the property special is a 56-foot-long wine cellar that holds 1,600 bottles which looks like a mining tunnel. It is complete with piped-in sounds of creaking wood, an antique ore cart and dripping water.
A glass fiber-optic bridge is suspended above the great room that connects it to the master bedroom and an office. It also has an observation deck which is 35 feet above the ground that includes a fire pit surrounded by some benches. This deck, which is seen in a large area in the house, cost $140,000 to build.
It also has a theater, a tower room, two wood-burning fireplaces, a guest house and three-car garage.
Aside from the wine cellar, it has another impressive feature with a funicular that appears like an old mining tram and leads to the ski slopes which cost $240,000 to install. The house also has many high-tech features as well since most of the systems of the house are run by a remote-controlled gadget. It has a radiant heat system to make sure that the driveway is free of snow and the homeowners are alerted when a car pulls up through a sensor, LA Times reported.
In the sauna, the temperature can be increased while the temperature of the water in the $70,000 limestone bathtub is being maintained. Its 8,700 square feet of living space also includes a home gym.
The 62-years-old “The Oprah Winfrey Show” host and “Greenleaf” executive producer has a net worth of $3.2 billion and is ranked 4th richest celebrity. Aside from this new property, she also owns other real estate in Montecito, Calif., Chicago, Hawaii and Tennessee.
