"X-Men" fans have been wondering about the new ultimate villain in the upcoming movie "'X-Men: Apocalypse." Finally, more details about "En Sabah Nur" have been revealed including a quick look at the very first encounter between the X-Men team and the mutant known as "Apocalypse."
In the latest July issue of Entertainment Weekly (EW), the magazine dished out several interesting details about the villain "Apocalypse." Actor Oscar Isaac, who plays "En Sabah Nur," describes the 5,000 year old Egyptian character as the "first mutant" and is the "creative-slash-destructive force of this Earth." Isaac adds that the god-like mutant destroys civilizations that he thinks are not moving towards evolution or "when things go awry."
The magazine also featured a quick look at the kind of world that "X-Men: Apocalypse" will focus on. The movie is reportedly set during the 1980's, with the three mutants Raven (Mystique), Magneto and Professor X estranged from one another. Movie director Bryan Singer described it as a chaotic world filled with war and destruction. It seems that "Apocalypse" wakes from his slumber and finds the civilization in need of "one giant culling." Singer adds that "En Sabah Nur" will recruit "special assistants" to aid in the process. The Egyptian godlike mutant reportedly found Storm, Angel and Psylocke in various parts of the world. Michael Fassbender, who plays Magneto, also told EW that "Apocalypse" found his "X-Men" character and was able to recruit the mutant.
Meanwhile, one of the movie stills featured on the magazine shows a description of the scene where Professor X and the rest of the "X-Men" team meets "En Sabah Nur" for the first time. According to Galactic News One, the scene description reads: "The scene today takes place in 1983, a decade after the events of Days of Future Past, and Raven, Charles Xavier, Hank McCoy, and Moira MacTaggert have gathered inside the halls of supercomputer Cerebro, unaware that they're about to meet their most dangerous enemy yet. Apocalypse, a 5,000-year-old Egyptian mutant, suddenly teleports into Cerebro with his new recruits-Magneto, Psylocke, Storm and Angel -to force another mutant to join him: Charles. After the professor is pulled across the corridor in his wheelchair by Magneto, Apocalypse sizes up the remaining heroes and declares in a booming bass, 'All will be revealed, my children.'"
This scene seems like an exciting start to the film's conflict and is only making movie and Marvel fans excited about the film. "X-Men: Apocalypse" is slated to hit movie theaters on May 27, 2016.
