Free "Fallout 3" with the purchase of "Fallout 4" will not last forever.
As previously reported, with the launch of the "New Xbox One Experience" this coming Nov. 12, Microsoft's Xbox One will be backwards compatible with more than 100 Xbox 360 titles.
According to GameSpot, "Fallout 3" is confirmed to be one of the hundreds of Xbox 360 titles that will be backwards-compatible with Xbox One. And as a perk for those who purchase "Fallout 4," the older game will be given for free. But as the Xbox site states, this offer is available for a "limited time only."
On the Xbox Store it reads, "For a limited time, pre-order Fallout 4 for Xbox One and receive Fallout 3 on Xbox 360. The code for Fallout 3 will be delivered to your Xbox message center in 7-10 days. Redeem your code on Xbox.com or on your Xbox 360. Fallout 3 will be included in Xbox One backwards compatibility access when made available."
Specifically, this offer will only last until Feb. 6. You have to buy "Fallout 4" on Xbox One on or before that date to get backwards-compatible "Fallout 3" version for free. So there is still plenty of time for those who have not yet decided to buy the latest "Fallout" RPG.
On the other hand, Microsoft and Bethesda have come up with a new and wonderful offer for all the dedicated "Fallout" fans out there. The console maker and the game developer have worked together on a special-edition 1TB system Xbox One console that is preloaded with "Fallout 4" and "Fallout 3."
The much awaited "Fallout 4" from Bethesda Game Studios launches on Nov. 10 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows for $59.99. The game may be downloaded from Xbox Live before launch date.
