Season 5 will be the final season for the hit series "Person of Interest," and it will be featuring a new face in its upcoming season. Josh Close plays the brother of Lester Nygaard (Martin Freeman) during Season 1 of "FX's Fargo," and he will return on Season 5, as told by the drama series' co-showrunner, Greg Plageman, during a celebration night for the 100th series of the season which happened last Saturday night.
Although Pageman did not mention much details about Close's role in this episode of "Person of Interest." Pageman only revealed that Close will be playing "a very interesting" character. According to the cast members, this is going to be the strongest season for the drama series.
Aside from Fargo, Close also has previous TV shows like ABC's "The Unusuals" and other TV series episodes of "Blacklist," "12 Monkeys," "Legends," and "Justified."
"Person of Interest" will have 13 episodes for Season 5 and will be premiered at mid-season.
As reported by VCPost, series producer Chris Fisher is confident and assures that they have saved the best for the final season. The complete storyline will be maintained despite the shortened version.
Viewers of Season 5 will have a glimpse of a story about the relationship of the machine creator and the machine, which the Samaritan has permanently damaged as shown in the previous season. Finch will revive the machine that needs to be rebooted and will rekindle his fatherly instincts to his creation, as he and expert hacker Root, played by Amy Acker, continues to fix the machine, TVLine reported.
Finch will be reminded by Reese about the origins of the Machine and persuade him into believing in the cause. This season will highlight the evolving relationships of the characters, not to mention, the viewers should expect more exciting plots that will involve blood pumping scenes, as they fight with no other than the destroyer, the Samaritan.
POI Season 5 will be premiered somewhere around mid-season of 2016 at CBS.
