‘Justice League Dark’ Movie Cast Update: Colin Farrell In Talks to Play John Constantine; Monica Bellucci and Ron Perlman to Join Too?

The much anticipated "Justice League Dark" movie is rumored to be mulling over casting Colin Farrell, Monica Bellucci and Ewan McGregor for league member roles.

Warner Bros. is apparently trying to choose between "A-list" actors Farrell and McGregor for the John Constantine role, according to IGN. If the rumors are true, then Ryan Matt, the actor playing Constantine in The CW series "Arrow," will no longer have the chance to reprise his role for the big screen.

Yet, in case none of the two lands the Constantine role, they could be considered instead to play Jason Blood, an expert of demonology who became bound to the demon Etrigan.

It seems like it is not only the English actors who are being considered to fill the "Justice League Dark" cast. Ron Perlman, best known for his lead role in "Hellboy," is also being tapped by the film's producer Guillermo del Torre, Comic Book noted. The Spanish director reportedly wants Perlman to play Swamp Thing.

Other Justice League characters that fans can expect to see in the film include Deadman. Recent reports say the producers want to cast someone with "comedic presence" for the role. Also, "Spectre" star Monica Bellucci is being considered to play Madame Xanadu, a character known for her fortune-telling. This character is patterned from Nimue from the Arthurian legends.

The DC character Zatanna, one of the greatest magic wielders in the DC Universe, will be a part of "Justice League Dark" as well. It is said that the studio wants someone who is Black-Hispanic to play the role.

"Justice League Dark" should not be mistaken for the "Justice League" movie. The former is a film that will be based on DC characters battling against the supernatural evils instead of superhuman villains. Producers plan to fuse the two "Justice League" films together in the future.

"Justice League Dark" reportedly will start filming in 2016, with Oscar winner Scott Rudin on board as a producer.
