Director William Brent Bell, who was known for directing "The Devil Inside," will have his broadcast TV debut on another horror genre project with the "Haunted."
According to Entertainment Weekly, Bell ("The Devil Inside," "Stay Alive") has been tapped as the writer and director of the upcoming FOX series. It was said that Chris Morgan ("Furious 7," "Gang Related") will join onboard as an executive producer alongside Ainsley Davies.
The outlet also reported that the upcoming script order of the "Haunted" TV series will be inspired from FOX's hit sci-fi series, "The X-Files." "Haunted" will have a partnership between "a female skeptic and male true believer," who will be exposed to the supernatural world. However, the similarities end there.
The Bell-headed series will follow up another polar opposite couple, but this time, it will be a military agent and her ex, who is a former dermatologist. They will start on a mission to help out a family and save their "demon-infested" home. The ex-couple will also work together in solving the problem in order to find the answers behind their shared mysterious past.
The "Haunted" TV series is based on "The Demon of Brownsville Road" written by Bob Cramner and Erica Manfred. It revolves around Cramner's true-to-life experiences while living inside one of the most haunted places in America.
Variety elaborated that this will be Bell's latest TV endeavor and the first for a broadcast network. Cable channel USA Network previously bought the rights to Bell's pilot entitled "Posthuman" under Blumhouse and Universal Cable Prods.
Bell had his own share of horror-centered projects such as "The Devil Inside," "Stay Alive" and "Wer." Bell's latest movie offering is "The Boy," which will be released in 2016.
Moreover, another bigshot name attached to "Haunted" is producer Chris Morgan. He was known for writing screenplays for the box-office "Fast and Furious" franchise and "Wanted" starring James McAvoy. This will be his latest project for FOX after the canceled "Gang Related" in 2014.
