‘Days of Our Lives’ Casts Alla Korot; Molly Burnett and Nadia Bjorlin Return To NBC Daytime Soap

NBC's daytime drama "Days of Our Lives" is welcoming a new cast with the addition of Alla Korot. The actress announced her casting on Twitter and revealed that she is going to portray Janet Bernard.

Korot wrote, "Heading over to @DaysofourLives shooting 1st episode on Jan4:)) look out for Janet Bernard." She added, "I'm excited to return to Daytime:) it's been a very long time."

But since "Days" films episodes six months before their airing, fans will be able to see Alla's character on screen sometime in June 2016. There is no information yet on whether the daytime vet's casting will be a regular one, contract role or just a very short stint.

The 45-year-old actress is known for her role in NBC's "Another World" as Jenna Norris (1991-1992), ABC's "All My Children" as Dr. Allison Doyle Martin (1997-1998) and Soapnet's "General Hospital: Night Shift" as Stacey Sloan (2007). Most recently, she appeared in ABC's "Castle" (2015) and FOX's "Bones" (2012).

In a related casting news, Molly Burnett is returning to "Days of Our Lives" to reprise her role as Melanie Jonas. She is set to appear in January, although it has not been confirmed how long she is going to stay in Salem. Reports say that it could coincide with wrapping up the storyline for Daniel as Shawn Christian exits "Days." The 27-year-old actress left the soap earlier this year. She started playing as Melanie in 2008 and most recently appeared in "CSI: Cyber" and "Longmire."

Nadia Bjorlin is also coming back as Chloe Lane at around the same time as Molly's for a short time. Bjorlin, 35, will return full time in spring. She first appeared in "Days" way back in 1999 and was last seen in Salem in 2013. The "Venice the Series" star is set to appear in a TV movie "I Know Where Lizzie Is" in 2016.

"Days of Our Lives" airs every Monday to Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
