Time to Rejoice "Mortal Kombat" Fans! Here's Why! Your favorite video game will soon have a webseries and movie reboot.
Yes! You probably heard this several months ago, but this time is simply a confirmation that "Mortal Kombat: Generations" has never been pushed aside. Spinoff Comicbook Resources reports that Garrett Warren, the director of the show, has finally confirmed the release date of the project.
Report says that the "director of the 'Mortal Kombat' movie reboot has offered an update on the feature film" including the webseries release. He took his twitter account in gracing all the questions that were asked from him. According to Warren, the webseries will be released in early 2016, and then it will be followed by actual series in the later part of the year.
It is also noted that some actors of the "Mortal Kombat" movie will reprise their roles for the "Generations" webseries. One of these actors is Casper Van Dien. He will play again the role of Johnny Cage.
Other actors that are mentioned to come back for "Mortal Kombat: Generations" are "Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa as Shang Tsung, and Morgan Sticke as Cassie Cage."
Tech Times also says that "Mortal Kombat" is one of the most successful movie adaptations of a video game. But then it has been awhile since no one has heard about the development of the above-mentioned projects. Thus, it is a pleasant surprise that after awhile news about it heading back to Hollywood. Many fans had already thought that it was actually cancelled quietly.
This is not the first time also that a webseries is created for the "Mortal Kombat" franchise. If remembered, there was already a first webseries but it was short-lived.
Now that everyone knows that "Mortal Kombat: Generations" is not canceled, fans could already anticipate any updates that surface in the internet from time to time until its release. Director Warren, although he cordially answered some questions thrown at him via his twitter account, he didn't give any explanation why there was a silence about the development.
