'Final Fantasy XV' Game Director Hajime Tabata Talks About Stand on 'FFXV" Female Characters and the Magic Types

After Square Enix released a demo, many fans have begun to question why "Final Fantasy XV" has no female playable character. Finally, Square Enix's Hajime Tabata has shed some light into the matter.

According to Attack of the Fanboy, Tabata has explained in an interview with Examiner that a lot of the male characters will encounter female characters as they go along their journey and these female characters will "really enhance the story." Tabata also added that there will be strong female characters from both the protagonists and the enemies sides.

"There are quite a lot of female characters the guys will meet along the road they take and they really enhance the story, and perform a lot of different roles in the story," Examiner quotes Tabata. "Not just as love interests but other ways as the story progresses."

Besides the role of female characters in the "Final Fantasy XV" lore, Tabata is said to have mentioned that there will be two types of magic in the game. With the first one being generic and can be used by anyone and the other type that is exclusive to the members of the "Royal Family."

To prevent giving out any spoilers, according to Examiner, Tabata did not discuss further how the second type of magic will affect the boys throughout their trip and the story. If there is any spoiler, Tabata has revealed one important female character in "Final Fantasy XV." As Tabata reportedly describes Cid, she is "a very important part of the story because by keeping the car running she makes the entire journey possible."

There have been rumors that ""Final Fantasy XV" will have a PC version. As previously reported, "Final Fantasy XV" is already in the final stage of development and playable on both PlayStation and PC. However, a PC version is not yet confirmed. Though the date is not definite, "Final Fantasy XV" is slated for release in 2016 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
