'Kingdom Hearts 3' Game Director Reveals Trailers and Character Details

After several months of speculating about what "Kingdom Hearts 3" has in store for its fans, new information have become available coming from Game Director Tetsuya Nomura himself.

On Christmas day, Square Enix published what had transpired from its Q&A session with Tetsuya Nomura. The Q&A was meant to address questions that Square Enix had collected from "Kingdom Hearts 3" fans. One of the questions posted in the blog site revolved around the notorious conversation between Young Xehanort and Eraqus, the opening scene of "Kingdom Hearts 3." Fans have noticed that more and more of that conversation is being featured with every trailer released and finally at D23, those who were able to attend got to view the entire scene.

As an explaination, Nomura said, "There are many reasons for this, but one of them is that we are prioritizing the creation of new worlds in KH3, and we would have to consider the reveal timing of those worlds, making sure that we discuss with Disney. That opening scene is very versatile, since it doesn't involve those new worlds, plus it's a great asset to use as a prologue to build up excitement towards KH3." He then noted, "the scenes that we have currently have released is not the final product so please look forward to any changes that we may make in the future as well."

It was through that interview that Nomura has teased that with the said Xehanort and Eraqus conversation, Xehanort is interested with something beyond a title of honor. Moreover, the game director was also asked about the return of Nobodies and the appearance of a Nobody with a scythe and flower petal design, as well as the appearance of Mickey in the D23 trailer for "Kingdom Hearts 3." Based on the answers published in the Square Enix blog site, Nomura was being careful not to spill too much details.

As for the appearance of Nobodies, Nomura has teased that he is at the moment thinking about enemy types as part of production. He has also advised fans to stand by and wait for new promotional materials that would shed some light on this new Nobody. On the other hand, he said that there are at the moment no plans revolving around Mickey.

Based on the interview, it seems that the game still requires more work. "Kingdom Hearts 3" is slated for release sometime in 2016 on PlayStation and Xbox One.
