This is the first time in 25 years that Yoshihiro Togashi has not published a single chapter of his famous "Hunter x Hunter" manga in Shonen Jump. The final issue of the weekly digital magazine for 2015 has been finally released, and this finally confirms that no HxH has ever been published for the entire year.
According to Crunchyroll, if the calendar date or cover date will be the basis of the record, there had been several instances that "Hunter x Hunter" had close calls of not being able to publish any chapters.
Based on the hiatus chart included in the report, in the year 2009 and 2013, there are only 2 chapters of "Hunter x Hunter" that were being published, at the beginning of the year. In 2007, it was almost towards the end of the quarter wherein it published 8 chapters.
But it is only in this year- 2015, that Yoshihiro Togashi has not published a chapter of "Hunter x Hunter." Looking back at the chart, the long hiatus of Togashi began in 2006. Since then, he published his works with irregularity. It happened thrice that he would only published first quarter of the year, sometimes 3rd quarter, and other times he had in-between hiatus in a year.
RocketNews says that 2015 ends the 25-year-long record of "Hunter x Hunter." It has been a big question of what happened to the man who is behind the "internationally popular manga and anime series."
It is a given fact that aside from being considered as "an absolutely brilliant story-teller," he's also known for being notorious of taking long hiatus. This has been noted when Togashi began working on his "Yu Yu Hakusho," back in the early 90s. What everyone has known so far was because of his illness or lower back pain.
There had been also talks that the creator of "HxH" was actually running away from his job. Rumors came out that Togashi could not manage "the grueling weekly serial pace." But of course, there's no proof against this hearsay.
