Ian Somerhalder Distances Himself From His 'The Vampire Diaries' Co-Stars; Is This A Sign He Is Leaving The Show?

The talks about Ian Somerhalder leaving "The Vampire Diaries" have been running for quite some time already. Last month it was reported that Ian is having thoughts of quitting "TVD" and just focused on his ultimate dream of becoming a dad. But then, Nikki on the other hand is not yet ready to sacrifice her career and get pregnant.

And now Ian is facing another rumor which involves his co-stars in the hit vampire series. According to Yibada, Ian is having issues with his co-stars since Nina Dobrev left the show. It has been reported that Ian's co-stars, Paul Wesley, Candice Accola, and Kat Graham among others prefer to work with Nina over him.

Celebrity Dirty Laundry reported that "The Vampire Diaries" set prefers to have Nina's "friendliness" than Ian's alter-ego "diva behavior." This made them missed Nina even more. To add more to that, in Ian's interview with The Variety, he may have tried to keep things light but it still boils down that he was happy that Nina quit the show. And the reason is that, Nina's departure gave room for Ian's character, Damon to be on the spotlight. To make it simpler, Ian wants more of the attention.

But then, Ian's co-star Paul, who plays as Stefan, pointed out that it is important for the show to work as a team rather than focus on just a singular character. Wesley said in his interview that "They (Damon and Stefan) should be teaming up and fighting the negative outside forces. There's no room for them to be at odds with each other. There's just no room for either one of them to be the villain."

According to the Inquisitr, after all the controversies that Somerhalder is facing, he finally decided to just distance himself from everyone. Ian's co-stars did not yet react to his decision but clearly his future in the show does not look good anymore. It seems like this is Ian's way to tell everyone that he will soon leave the show.
