Hugh Jackman revealed that he once turned down the offer to play the role of James Bond eight years ago.
"At the time I was just about to do X-Men 2 and I was like, 'Ah, I don't think it's the right time," Jackman said during his appearance at Australian TV show 'The Project.' "But it was not an easy one to give up."
He admitted though that he would "seriously consider it," if he would be offer to do the role again.
Jackman's revelation might be in good timing, according to Mirror because Daniel Craig recently admitted that he is unsure how long he would be playing the role of suave super-spy.
He explained to Esquire, "I don't know. I really don't know. Honestly. I'm not trying to be coy. At the moment I can't even conceive it."
And when he was asked if he would consider another Bond movie, he replied, "At this moment, no. I have a life and I've got to get on with it a bit. But we'll see."
"You know, it sounds awful but I've been left a wealthy man by doing this. I can afford to live very comfortably... I'm incredibly fortunate. But the day I can walk into a pub and someone goes, 'Oh, there's Daniel Craig' and then just leaves me alone, that'll be great."
He also addressed the issue that his alter-ego as a lonely "sexist and misogynistic" man.
"Hopefully my Bond is not as sexist and misogynistic as (earlier incarnations). The world has changed," he said.
"I am certainly not that person. But he is ... There's a great sadness. He's got these beautiful women but then they leave. It's sad. And as a man gets older it's not a good look. It might be a nice fantasy, that's debatable, but the reality, after a couple of months," he added.
