Dota 2 Patch 6.86 Brought Disadvantages to Faceless Void, Hero Suffers Decreased Pick and Win Rate

The DOTA 2 hero Faceless Void is back in Captain's Mode with reworked abilities. Will the DOTA 2 players love him or hate him?

As previously reported, Faceless Void was one of the six "DOTA 2" Heroes that received a major overhaul in their abilities from last year's biggest patch 6.86 known as "The Balance of Power." Faceless Void then was added back shortly with the subsequent Patch 6.86b.

This report takes a closer look at the new Faceless Void. According to the "DOTA 2" Patch 6.86 notes, his former "Backtrack" ability has been replaced by the new Time Dilation. The patch notes then writes that Time Dilaton applies a "debuff to all nearby enemies (650 AoE) for 6/7/8/9 seconds. Causes time to be frozen on all enemy abilities, causing their cooldowns to make no progress while they have this debuff. Slows movement and attack speed by 4/6/8/10% for each locked ability."

Moreover, its well-loved ability Timewalk was substantially nerfed and now it no longer slows units, does not undo any damage taken in the last 2 seconds, has been rescaled from 19/17/15/13 to 24/18/12/6, its ranged reduced to 550 from 700/900/1100/1300 and that makes the reduced mana cots from 90 to 40 not so helpful.

According to JoinDota, the heroe's pick rate increased from 9.5% to 12% but maybe it was because players simply wanted to see how the new Void would fare in the games. Shortly, his pick rate has decreased to less than 7.5%. The void used to be the most favorable carry but after the patch, Faceless Void is said to have suffered not only a drop in pick rate but also a drop in win rate. The publication then concludes that the Void might be better off in the off lane with its new abilities, as it is where the hero has a higher win rate despite the changes to his abilities.
