Olivia Munn is proving just how versatile an actress she is, having completed hours of training to learn swordfighting skills for her new "X-Men: Apocalypse" role. And now, Munn is showing off Psylocke's impressive fighting skills in a video clip shared via social media.
Munn took to Instagram Saturday, August 1, to showcase her amazing fighting skills as she trains for her Marvel X-Men role Psylocke, reports Comic Book Movie. The clip showed the actress practicing with her trainer in the gym, doing a series of rapid low and high level kicks, as well as turns. Munn captioned the photo, "Freestyle #latergram @karine_lmx." It seems the star has been training hard to prepare for her Psylocke role, a mutant known for her hand-to-hand combat skills.
Aside from hand-to-hand combat, Munn has also been honing her sword fighting skills, as shown in the Instagram clip she shared a month ago, reports Entertainment Weekly. The video showed the star totally focused as she executed a series of sword flips and figure-8 movements. Munn also swung the sword above her head and slashed it down towards the side, while looking fiercely at the camera. The star seemed pleased with her sword practice, having ended the session with a quick laugh.
In the Entertainment Weekly report, Munn also opened up about her character's form fitting costume. The star said, "It doesn't matter what I'm wearing as long as we're all aware of who she is. She's very strong and she's very lethal and she's very powerful, and it doesn't really matter what she's wearing as long as you have that strength and that presence."
Munn added that Psylocke's costume looks very sexy and that it was a "rather risqué outfit." The skin tight latex attire fits the actress "like a glove" and sometimes made it very challenging to move around. Munn even shared her first day filming wardrobe malfunction where her costume got damaged. She said, "Day one, I was like, 'Uh, guys, uh, do we have a backup? Sorry I popped my c--tch."
"X-Men: Apocalypse" is slated to hit movie theaters on May 27, 2016.
