As previously reported, "League of Legends" will have a lineup of updates slated for 2016. As part of the 2016 changes, Riot Games will be introducing a new loot system that features chest and keys as item drops at the end of every completed game. The chest will contain rewards like seven-day rentals for new characters or full character and skin unlocks, the chest can be opened by keys that may also be dropped at the end of game. Riot Games aims to discourage toxic player behavior with the new loot system.
But before 2016 comes, Riot Games brought one more update to "League of Legends." Patch 5.24, that went live on December 10, is the last one for 2015.
On the "League of Legends" blog site Riot Games wrote, "Welcome to patch 5.24, the last one of 2015. It's been a wild ride with Cinderhulks, Juggernauts and Devourers in-between, but this is no time to get sentimental. It's still preseason, there are still outliers to balance, systems to maintain and bad jokes to make."
Along with changes to the usual fix and balance changes to heroes, Snowdown 2015 kicks in with Patch 5.24. As written in the League of Legends blog Site, "It's time for some icy awesomeness." Snowdown 2015 is League of Legend's way of commemorating the holiday season and with Patch 5.24, the blog writes, "Legend of the Poro King game mode returns with a new PROJECT: Poro icon joining last year's lineup of icon-infused poro skins!"
The update also brings "Snowdown minions" to Howling Abyss and Summoner's Rift mode, new Penguin Skier ward, Snowdown icons, the Snowdown Shop with skin and champ discounts offered and three new Snowdown skins: Snow Day Syndra (Legacy), Snow Day Gnar (Legacy) and Snow Day Bard.
Riot Games has even set up a dedicated Snowdown 2015 site were LoL players can get more details on this festive "League of Legends" event. Meanwhile for information on the changes brough to specific heroes, fans can head over to the Patch Notes for 5.24.
As an ending note, Riot Games has written, "Poppy's looking cuter and more imposing than ever, Snowdown's back and brought the Legend of the Poro King game mode with it, and we've put the finishing touches on our item and champion tuning before taking a balance break to January."
